Easter Pt. 1

Holidays have a whole new meaning when you have kids. The days leading up to Easter before were special but not because I saw them through kids eyes, but because you can understand the TRUE meaning and celebration of the holiday.

Korbin is truly developing this AMAZING personality that I still would like to think comes from me but reluctantly have to admit that he takes Shawn, takes me, and adds something unique and simply wonderful. Our friends the Crows, Tawnie and her daughter (and Korbin's future girlfriend) Michaela all came to the Herriman Easter Egg Hunt with us. Shawn had to work, so it was definitely nice to have extra pairs of hands when dealing with a potty-training 2 year old and a bouncy baby girl! (**SIDE NOTE: KORBIN HAS GONE 4 DAYS WITHOUT ANY ACCIDENTS!!!***)
We got there early and so glad we did, because the crowds-just in the 0-2 age area- were INSANE. Korbin was so excited to see the Easter Bunny. He ran (full speed) at the Easter Bunny and could not wait to give him a hug. He was beyond excited and we had to pry him away so that the other kids could go see him as well. Korbin and Michaela got some great loot from the Easter Egg Hunt- which when all was said and done lasted like 2 minutes.
Korbin hugging the Easter Bunny....and unfortunately is at the height he is.....

Scott and Korbin checking out his eggs :) Although Korbin's favorite was the bags of popcorn!!!

After the Easter Egg Hunt, Korbin and Michaela went on a train ride together. They both love trains, so they rode in the caboose! It was quite cute to see their eyes light up to take a short little train ride around the park.
Brooklyn and I cuddling :) *Ok, so it looks like no crowds, but this was 1 hr before it started**

Brooklyn and I had a good time too!  No Easter Egg Hunting for her this year, but definitely next year! I think the fresh air-not so much on the crowds- but the fresh air was good for her!

Then we came back to our house-Brooklyn went down for a nap and we got ready to color Easter Eggs. (And Scott watched the kids while the girls got lunch and sugared them up really good---hahaha) It was fun....

Korbin and Michaela somewhat in awe of everything!

This doesn't even touch on the fact the the Tigers have won both games so far and we can watch (or at least listen) all the way out here in Utah!
BUT NOTHING CAN COMPARE TO THE EXCITEMENT OF TOMORROW AND THE CELEBRATION THAT IS EASTER!!! *I will update after our morning festivities, church, and our     Utah family Easter dinner!!*

Matthew 28:1-10
After the Sabbath, at dawn on the first day of the week, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary went to look at the tomb. There was a violent earthquake, for an angel of the Lord came down from heaven and, going to the tomb, rolled back the stone and sat on it. His appearance was like lightning, and his clothes were white as snow. The guards were so afraid of him that they shook and became like dead men.
The angel said to the women, "Do not be afraid, for I know that you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified. He is not here; he has risen, just as he said. Come and see the place where he lay. Then go quickly and tell his disciples: 'He has risen from the dead and is going ahead of you into Galilee. There you will see him.' Now I have told you."
So the women hurried away from the tomb, afraid yet filled with joy, and ran to tell his disciples. Suddenly Jesus met them. "Greetings," he said. They came to him, clasped his feet and worshiped him. Then Jesus said to them, "Do not be afraid. Go and tell my brothers to go to Galilee; there they will see me." (NIV)

Sanitizer, Sanitizer, Sanitizer!

First I have to say...it is SNOWING as I write this, and it was 70 on Monday!!!! It is GOOD FRIDAY!

I truly have started to feel like the Middleton house should be under quarantine! Only part of me is joking...Last Saturday, Brooklyn was diagnosed with pink eye (which I knew before we went in) and an ear infection. Apparently, they go together quite often, didn't know that so I learned something from our insta-care trip. And I guess all the other seasoned mothers out there can understand this, as much as you tell a child to stay out of a siblings face it just doesn't happen. All Korbin wants to do is be in Brooklyn's face, loving on her-which as a mom I LOVE but as a person who does not want our entire family to get sick not so much. OF COURSE, he get sick on Monday with pink eye too!!! Not to mention, the lovely spring colds that are circulating as well. So we have turned to sanitizing EVERYTHING!!! So pray that we are on the upward trend with getting better! :)
Sunday was a GREAT DAY for us though. We got to dedication Brooklyn and re-dedicate Korbin at church. Shawn read an amazing prayer for them-he is such a great public speaker and is such an eloquent writer. Since starting to go to One Community Church a year and a half ago, we have seen amazing things happen. We have seen the Holy Spirit work through OCC strengthen in the past little bit and it is an amazing feeling to know that God is using us for BIG things here in the valley. OCC has also brought us some of the best friends we could have asked for into our lives. And these friends have really become our family. Below are some photos from the dedication with our amazing friend and pastor, Tony Simoncini.

The other big thing that has been happening for our family---namely the boy is TIGERS OPENING DAY! Korbin was as excited as Shawn-if not more- and kept saying "it's OPENING DAY!!!" and when Shawn asked who was pitching, he said "Ver-lan-der" <3 And as far as we are concerned, Korbin will be playing his first opening day in April 2031. :)

I seriously LOVE LOVE LOVE Korbin's face in this one!!!

Jeremiah 29:11 “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” (NIV)
“For I know the plans I have for you,” says the LORD. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.” (NLT)
